Lt. Dixon celebrates retirement

Lt. Dixon has served as a commissioned police officer with the Collierville Police Department for 26 years beginning his employment on July 17, 1989.

He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1957, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1965.   He attended Overton High School, and later graduated with honors “Magna Cum Laude” from Memphis State University.

In 1983, Norm married Cindy Mason and they have one daughter Lindsey.

In the summer of 1989, Norm joined the Collierville Police Department as a commissioned officer, and later that year, he graduated from the Memphis Police Department’s First Regional Academy.

Officer Rossie Promoted to Lieutenant

In August of this year, the department held a Lieutenant Promotional Process to establish an eligibility list in anticipation of the upcoming retirement of two lieutenants.   There were eight candidates who participated in this process.  

These eight candidates were tested on their knowledge in the several areas.
