On September 26, 2012, BBB of the Mid-South issued a consumer alert about Opportunity Sales,Inc. a door to door magazine sales company located in Memphis TN. The BBB has received complaints from 14 states- most complaints have been closed as unanswered.

The Collierville Police Department held a promotion ceremony on June 19th at the Municipal Courthouse for Officer John Hal Banks. At the ceremony, Officer Banks was officially promoted to Lieutenant and received his promotion certificate and badge. Police Chief Larry Goodwin was joined by Mayor Joyner, Aldermen Patton, Fraser, Worley and Allen along with family and officers from CPD in congratulating Banks on the promotion.

Detective Jonathan Watts was awarded the "Officer of the Year" from the Collierville Police Department and the Shelby County Optimist Club's Respect for Law Committee on May 9, 2013.  Below was the nomination letter.  Congradulations to Detective Watts.
